Programs for Individuals with Cancers

At The Journey Fund, we recognize the extraordinary strength that accompanies the battle against cancer, and we are honored to offer our support. May this financial assistance provide a moment of respite, allowing you to focus on healing.

Bridge To Wellness

Bridge To Wellness provides up to $25,000 to help an individual with cancer in South Puget Sound by bridging the gap in services throughout the entire cancer journey. Assisting with essential expenses like food, housing, select medical supplies, and caregiving. Eligible patients must have a diagnosis of cancer and be in active treatment, face financial hardship as defined by the guidelines, and be from the South Puget Sound.

Urgent Financial Assistance

The Urgent Financial Assistance Fund is designated for individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment, providing a one-time annual grant of $450. This aid is specifically tailored to assist with essential non-medical expenses, including utilities, rent, mortgage, groceries, gas, and so on. Eligibility for assistance is determined by either income level or medical necessity.

Coming Soon...Fruit & Veggie Prescription Program

The Fruit and Veggie Prescription Program provides eligible participants with $250 in vouchers to purchase fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables at local Albertsons and Safeway stores. Funded through a Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Community Health Improvement Grant, this initiative is part of The Journey Fund’s efforts to improve food access in collaboration with Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and NWMS.

Urgent Mental Health

The Journey Fund has partnered with Alicia Gutierez, M.A. in counseling at Polis Recovery Project to provide emergent counseling services to individuals receiving cancer treatment. This service is intended to serve uninsured and underinsured individuals and/or individuals who are unable to access mental health care due to long wait times. Approved applicants will be provided with an approval number that they will use to schedule their free mental health sessions. Approved applicants will be eligible for:

  • Three free counseling sessions with Alicia Gutierez, M.A. in counseling at Polis Recovery Project.
  • Counseling available in English and Spanish.
  • Tele-mental health or in-person visits available.
